10 Mar Meet Our New Executive Director
“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” – John F. Kennedy
Change is good.
And uncomfortable. And even a little scary.
But we’ve made it part of our culture here at FTGI to embrace change.
The reason is simple: You can’t move forward without change.
The very concept of forward motion indicates change. It’s not always dramatic but if you’re making progress, chances are you’ll have to do things a little differently than you’ve always done them.
If you want a different result than you’ve been getting or want to move to another level of growth, something will almost always have to change.
So, this past Spring when I felt the winds of change beginning to blow, I leaned in and paid attention. My husband’s business was growing and expanding. Throughout the summer, as we made plans for my involvement with our leadership team, it became apparent that in order to make room for the “new” and “growing” there, I would need to take a hard look at my current role at FTGI and see what changes might need to be made.
FTGI is my heartbeat and my only desire ever is for it to THRIVE! For this to happen, given my growing commitments at my husband’s business, it became obvious through prayer and contemplation we would need a new Executive Director to take the reins. FTGI is in a stage of growth and the person at the helm of the day to day operations needed to be fully engaged.
Thus, we began our search.
And…
I’m so excited today to announce we found her!!
Today we would like to officially announce the appointment of Jen Baker to the Executive Director position of FTGI.
I am so excited to remain on the board of directors and help lead this amazing community of women from a new vantage point. And looking forward to supporting Jen in her new adventure! She’s in for a wild ride!
If this all sounds seamless and easy—I’m glad it looks that way. But, the process of letting go and embracing change was uncomfortable at times and difficult to navigate. However, there are some very real principles and truths we can apply to make it less daunting than it seems.
Next week, I will share a little more of the nitty-gritty of navigating change, so stay tuned.
For now, we want to invite you to celebrate with us. We thought you would like to get to know Jen a little better, so we put together a video to introduce her to our amazing community. Many of you may have already met her, but either way, I encourage you to watch and to drop an encouraging word in the comments to welcome her aboard!
To forward motion!
