04 Sep There Is More
I can hardly believe summer is over! It went so fast for me, but if you’re a mama with kiddos at home, I can imagine you’re ready for a routine again 😉
We want to thank all of you who prayed continuously for FTGI during our hiatus. It was good for us to take some time off, allowing God to speak and show us what’s next. During this time, one thing was always clear—the beauty of our FTGI community is we are entirely made-up of so many caring and giving women. I had the chance over the summer to sit with a few of our members and hear their stories of how FTGI impacted them, and it was a passionate reminder to me of WHY we exist.
I heard from women who came to an FTGI event feeling a little lost in one way or another: some were in between seasons of life where the ground underneath them feel shaky; some came to us already running strong but looking for a community of women to connect with; And, all of them expressed feeling a sense of belonging and of being “seen” and loved unconditionally. Many made connections within our sisterhood which helped propel them forward in whatever it was they were reaching for. This right here is everything to us. It is WHY we gather.
In this social media-crazed world where everyone’s life tends to look picture perfect online, it’s refreshing to be able to stand in a room with other women and share REAL life. The irony right now is you’re most likely reading this via some electronic form of communication. Which of course has a place and a purpose. We love to be able to reach and encourage women through our blog and other online platforms, but what we really love is getting everyone together in a room to connect with each other—in person! It is so life-giving!
We love to inspire you and help awaken dormant dreams and light a fire to resurrect them. We love to provide tools and equip you to get going and move forward with the passions God placed within you. And we love to LAUGH together (which, for the record, happens inevitably every time we’re together, and it’s so good for the soul).
In our time of hiatus, we prayed to hear what God was saying to us. We knew we had to look carefully and closely at what we do and how we do it, ensuring we were good stewards of what God’s entrusted to us. We prayed a lot, but we also spent time just listening, and the answer we received was a phrase that kept coming-up over and over again in conversation, resonating in our hearts, and breathing new life into our future…
THERE IS MORE!
There is MORE, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
We’re grateful for a board of directors who are willing to support the cause and find ways to bolster the organization financially so it can thrive. We’re also thankful for Jen Baker who helped us through a time of transition for FTGI as Executive Director in the spring.
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT—NEXT STEPS
We’re extremely excited and happy to announce Vaine Angelo Saddow has agreed to lead the charge as Executive Director for this new season. Vaine is an avid FTGI supporter and has been since the day she walked into her first event. She came, became a member, bought all the T-shirts—she was ALL IN from day one, and we love her for it. Besides this, Vaine is a successful businesswoman and coach with an entrepreneurial spirit. We’re blessed to have her expertise leading the charge to propel us forward to more!
We will kick off the Fall with a Better Together Network lunch at the Empress Tea Room on September 25th. Thank you to all of the women who sponsored this event. Your support is what allows FTGI to continue to do the work God’s put before us. Registration for this event is open and we have an Early-Girl special price until September 12th.
MEMBERSHIP AND DONATIONS
If you’re not yet a member of FTGI–please join us! If you’re already a member, please consider making a donation to help us kick off this new season.
Your membership and/or donation will help us make a way for MORE ministry, MORE encouragement, MORE connection, MORE healing, MORE sisterhood, MORE purpose and MORE mobilization of women living to their fullest potential.
All of this leads to MORE women setting the world on fire with their gifts and talents whether it’s at home, in the workplace, or in ministry.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.
1 Cor 2:9
Looking ahead together,
